Hard Rok – KoKo & Joe Sounds of Summer

July 23, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Hard Rok – KoKo & Joe
Sounds of Summer

“Hard Rok, KoKo and Joe”
Hard Rok, KoKo & Joe’s members are John Galoite (Hard Rok) guitar and vocals, Sam Coco (KoKo) guitar, bass and vocals and Dave Rodgers (Joe) drums and percussion. The band plays a wide variety of music from classic rock, country, rockabilly, folk, rhythm and blues and Jimmy Buffett. Our motto is very simple……”Who doesn’t like to have a good time”. Our overall sound is best described as “The Sound of Summer (all year round)”.
“Hard Rok, KoKo and Joe” originally formed as a school project for an Ethnic Festival at Forest Hills Middle School. At that time Joe Rulli was a part of the group and we played traditional folk music. We decided to continue playing folk music for the public under the name “Sunday Afternoon” but due to the fact that John had played in rock bands and there was a Coco and a Joe, several friends always said that we should change our name to “Hard Rok, KoKo and Joe”. We did that in the middle of one performance and have never looked back.

John Galiote played with “the Echoes”, “Purple Glass”, The Attraction Company” and the Kindred Spirit” back in the 60’s. Dave Rodgers, for many years played with “The JC4” in the 70’s as well as the band “Time Travel”. Dave has also performed with “Ole 97”. Sam Coco has played in bands in the Johnstown area for the past 50 years. “The Sandels”, “The Academy of Sound”, “The Denny Micklos Trio”, “Satrycon”. “Guitar’s Around”, “Take 2”, “One Night Stand” and “Blue Pirahna” are among the bands that he has performed with on drums, bass and guitar.
